What often getsCommunity fans buzzing is what goes on in the final 30 seconds each week.
That’s when cast member Danny Pudi, who plays Abed, gets extra play time with castmate Donald Glover, who plays Troy. They engage in simple shenanigans over the closing credits.
“It really takes you more into the world of Greendale of Abed and Troy,” said Pudi. “It almost feels like we’re shooting a web video at home with buddies.”
In fact, the very first “tag” became a viral hit on the internet. It was a nonsense rap performed in Spanish by Pudi and Glover.
If you loved the beginning of Community with loads of Troy and Pierce time, you’ll love the end of the season, too. “There’s a lot with Chevy [Chase] coming up,” a tight-lipped Donald Glover tells E-Online “I can’t say much, but I’ll be with Chevy a lot. It’s like the Lost [storyline] of Community, and it definitely plays into the finale.” Plus, Lee Majors pops up this week to up Jeff’s cool factor just a teensy bit.
We hope you enjoyed Community Episode 11 as much as we did.
Some reviews of the episode’s include: Daemons TV , with their favorite quotes:
Troy to Abed on Abed’s basketball abilities – “It’s impossible to guard you, your eyes are too gentle and mysterious”.
Troy – “Don’t eat the crab dip Yeeah, yay!”
Shirley on the male anatomy – You’ve never seen one on the internet, or in pictures, or Harvey Keitel’s”?
The ‘Wheel of Remorse’ at the STD fair
Jeff on horses – “Can you ever real ‘own’ a horse?”
Abed when preparing to arm wrestle Troy – “I need to wait for a more inspiring song, this score isn’t right”
Pierce’s date: “she thinks that Monty Python is the evil snake from Harry Potter”.
Another solid episode; this show is really in its groove right now. The new relationship Jeff has established with Britta; the one without him trying to get into her pants every week, or her accusing him of it every week; is really working for me. I like this group more as a bunch of friends than a group of potential hook-ups. At least for awhile.
Yvette Nicole Brown of NBC’s Communitysat down with TVGuide.com, offering a taste of hilarious off-screen antics. Brown also teases what’s coming up with her character Shirley, the many relationships at the community college and who may be next to lock lips with Joel McHale.
Here are some highlights:
TVGuide.com: What’s the on-set reaction been to the full-season pickup for Community?
Yvette Nicole Brown: It’s been amazing. Every week we’re finding out that more and more people are watching. We’re like, “Really? We got five more people? Awesome!” We’re looking at it as a grass-roots movement and every bit by bit we’re going to keep growing. Slow and steady wins the race, so we’re tortoises, maybe not hares.
TVGuide.com: A love triangle formed in last week’s episode between Brita, Annie and Jeff. Will that continue?
Brown: I think that was just for that episode. There’s an age difference involved. Well, we’re in Hollywood … age difference, what is that? I really think people want to see Annie with Troy [Donald Glover]. Annie’s had an unrequited crush for years on this guy and I’d love to see that go its natural course. I think Jeff and Brita will, of course, find their way together. That episode was just an anomaly, just like Pierce having a crush on Shirley … Hear that, writers? [Laughs]
