The Writing Process
Go backstage with Dan Harmon and his crew of writers and cast members!
On Tuesday, Joel McHale (who plays Jeff) made an appearance to share a number of his “travel tips” — which include telling TSA officials that you are carrying a concealed weapon in a “broken heart.” With the new regulations out there, we all have to get ready for an abundance of flight-related humor over the course of the next several weeks.
Marvel Studios and director Joss Whedon already have The Avengers assembled and ready to go. So, unfortunately, this awesome piece of art by Chris Schweizer will have to remain a pipe dream. Schweizer was commissioned to do a drawing of the cast of NBC’sCommunity and decided to imagine the cast as The Avengers.
TV Guide has a theory about the show: That the characters in Community are real people who are slowly coming to the realization that they are trapped inside a TV sitcom, not dissimilar to the circumstances confronting the characters of the Jean Paul Sartre play No Exit.
Check out what the actors have to say about this theory:
Donald Glover (Troy): “Wow! That’s really cool! There’s so many things I love there — Lost, No Exit reference, which is a play I did — that is great!”
Pudi (Laughing): “I’ve been told things like that recently, like they’re all figments of Abed’s imagination.”
Brie: “Abed in a straight jacket.”
Gillian Jacobs (Britta): “I really like that. Did you ever watch that show, ‘Til Death? There was a plot line where one of the characters became convinced that he was in a sitcom, and it became even more meta than our show, if you can actually believe it.”
