“Community” creator and executive producer Dan Harmon joins director and executive producer Joe Russo; series producer Jake Aust; supervising sound editor/re-recording mixer Mark Binderl; and director of photography Gary Hatfield for a 2011 NAB Show session titled “Community: Intelligent Comedy Meets Innovative Production,” on Tuesday, April 12 at 2pm in the Content Theater. The 2011 NAB Show takes place April 9-14 in Las Vegas.

After lampooning everything from “The Godfather” to “Pulp Fiction” to “Dungeons and Dragons,” NBC’s sophomore series “Community” continues to stockpile fans. Its nimble cast, inspired writing and quirky performances have made the series a favorite with consumers and critics alike. Behind the scenes, imagination is also part of the show’s success, with the production team utilizing an innovative file-based production workflow, allowing producers to keep the series both flexible and economical.

Actress Alison Brie has signed on to the cast of the “Scream” franchise’s reboot, “Scream 4.” Brie will join an already star studded young cast set to take center stage on the killing fields of the franchise reboot. Wes Craven, who directed the first three, is returning to direct the new film.

Lisa Rinna will pop up on Communityy, and she’s loving every minute of her over-the-top gig.  “I’m Shantal, a Real Housewife of Greendale County, I guess you could say,” Lisa says.

“Joel is a genius. Don’t tell him, he’ll get a big head,” she says with a laugh. “He will get a big head, but he really is good. I was excited to work with him.”

With April Fool’s Day right around the corner, Greendale knows there will be plenty of pranks. However, the most important part is staying safe, that’s why you need to know the rules of pranking. Head over to the official show site and read through the college’s “What To Know” pamphlet for the guide to a fun April Fool’s Day.

All pranks should comply with the Fire Code. For example, the following are prohibited:

• Locking others in rooms
• Blocking off a courtyard area
• Any other prank which does not leave at least two (2) unobstructed exits from any area.

Community Episode 10: “Environmental Science” — When Señor Chang assigns an absurd amount of homework to his Spanish class the gang nominates Jeff to talk some sense into him. Jeff begrudgingly agrees and the two strike up an unlikely friendship which backfires when the gang realizes Jeff is receiving perks that they aren’t.
