‘Community’s Lauren Stamile Goes From McDreamy To McHale

By , February 12, 2010

Fancast has an interview with Lauren Stamile, Professor Michelle Slater, the sexy stastistics professor who caught Jeff Winger’s (Joe McHale) eye. Here are the highlights:

Let’s get this out of the way. Who is the better kisser: McDreamy or McHale?

Ladies don’t speak. They’re both pretty great.

When you got the role, did you know that you would be back for  a longterm storyline?

No, I didn’t.  I have been pleasantly surprised.

Since you play a statistics professor, what is the probability that Jeff and Michelle’s relationship will last?

Statistically speaking, if she is going to take into account Jeff Winger’s past, it would seem that it wouldn’t last.  But I think there are some surprises on the way.

Do you ever spend time with the rest of the cast outside of work?

I haven’t hung out with the cast outside of the workplace but I have to say, across the board I have never met a cast with such talent and such lack of ego. Every day there is a learning experience for me because everyone is no nice and so amazing at what they do. I have to pinch myself every time I go to set because I can’t believe this is my job.

Has working with Joel McHale given you an appreciation for his other show, The Soup?

Joel was nice enough to let my husband and I come to a taping. I’d seen the movie Paranormal Activity and was convinced for weeks that it was real. We were sleeping with the light on. My husband was going crazy. Joel had the two stars of Paranormal Activity on the show and he said, “Why don’t you come?” I got to talk to them. They assured me that it was not real. How Joel has the ability to star in his own show on NBC, write and star on another show on E! and have a wife and children and be a super super nice, happy human being all at the same time is pretty astonishing. I don’t really know how he does it. It’s really inspiring.
