Community: A New Comedy Series

By , August 10, 2009

NBC will launch its only new comedy series this fall: Community. The show is about a group of students who attend Greendale Community College with some promisingly memorable characters played by the legendary Chevy Chase, Joel McHale (The Soup), Alsion Brie (Mad Men), Ken Jeong (The Hangover), and Donald Glover (30 Rock).

Will this show help to bring back the glory of NBC’s Thursday night comedy line-up? (Previous shows during this primetime slot have included The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Cheers, Seinfeld, Will & Grace, Frasier, and Friends.)

In the company of Emmy-award winning shows that night, including The Office and 30 Rock, it looks like Community just might have a chance. At least the critics thinks so:  AOL TV gave the show 10 out of 10 for excitement factor.
